Independent Living Skills Worker
Description:
The "Independent Living Skills Worker" ​trains and assists individuals with a mental health illness so they can remain successful in their homes and community.
​
Knowledge/Skills:
Experience working with individuals with a physical/mental disability, basic computer skills, and able to work efficiently with a team, as well as, individual with minimal direction.
​
​
Education/Experience:

Must have at least a high school diploma equivalent with experience working with adults with mental health difficulties and diagnosis.
​
Duties/Responsibilities:

Meet with clients as agreed upon between you and the child/child’s family.

Assist clients/residents with the activities of daily living as needed and appropriately implement.

Assist clients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, grooming, and hair washing, necessary for personal hygiene.

Support clients in the development of their independent living skills in the areas of budgeting, meal preparation, personal appearance, and other community integration areas.

Work with the client to create opportunities that can foster their ability to live independently and become productive members of their community. Assist with medication management and provide medication administration when needed.

Accompanying client/residents to medical appointments.
